ESG Analyzer
This project involved developing a comprehensive ESG application from the ground up. The objective was to deliver a production-ready design within a tight, two-month timeframe so it could move straight into development.
Understanding a completely new topic
Why ESG Matters
Risk Management: Helps spot hidden business risks, like future climate laws or bad labor practices.
Investing: Guides ESG Investing where people put money into ethical or sustainable companies.
Transparency: Gives rules for companies to report their non-financial data clearly.
This project was a big one from the ground up this application that was going to help clients understand where their company ranks among others.
From the beginning of this project required a lot of research and understanding on what was needed. To help clients understand where their company stands and where to improve. A lot of the knowledge of ESG came from me speaking to subject matter experts also just doing some basic research myself.

With the information gathered from the research I began some architecture for how it would flow. Also talking with developers on if my ideas would be possible helped shaped the flow. Then talking with stakeholders to approve the plan and to continue forward with the project.
Getting started
Making sure the research is correct

Ideation and research were key in helping me move forward with the project. Talking with other designers and pitching them the rundown of what the application would be helped refine and challenge my assumptions and look into actual facts.
Making a path through

When designing the first thing I think about after figuring out the flow and the goal of the project is how accessibility works into it. Just making it look nice is the last thing I even think about. So making sure contrast ratios for data visualization and text size are at correct standard for ADA.
After the designs were settled in which that took two months, a main issue while creating it was the amount of data a user would see upon logging in. Making sure this application wasn’t too packed with information for a regular user.

While working on this project, many other components were incorporated, spanning different user experiences for regular users as well as administrators, and refining feedback through iterative user testing. I also worked on implementing AI features into the application to improve ease of use and enable quicker, more intuitive navigation. Designing the ESG application was not a solo effort — it required collaboration with developers, other designers, and project managers to bring it to life. The one truth I’ve always understood about design is that you’re never truly alone in this work.
